Another week of progress made đ The doll that I wrote about in last week’s WIP Wednesday is coming along nicely. I’m actually quite proud of it! Usually I am my own worst critic when it comes to designing something new.
For now, I am calling this 14 inch tall doll “Grenadine”, because that’s the primary color used.
I realize that I sewed her head on a wee bit crooked, but I’m ok with that. It adds character, lol. (She looks proud and headstrong this way, don’t you think? Lol)
Last night after Olivia went to bed I went onto YouTube and watched a few videos for inspiration and instruction on how to create lovely eyes. I usually suck at making faces, and don’t embellish with, for example, eyelashes. I think what I did turned out well. After the hair(line) is done, I might even add eyebrows! I don’t know if the ears are too big (the critic, again), but once the hair is added maybe they won’t look too big.
The pins on her head represent the hairline. I *think* I have brown yarn on hand, but I might not have enough. If not, Grenadine might have lilac colored hair (or blue, or red or bright orange…lol). I know, I should’ve checked through my yarn stash before beginning this project!
Along with the hair, I have to still make her little skirt (which I SHOULD do before adding hair, so I don’t crochet her hair into the skirt!). Oh, and probably little shoe straps, perhaps with buttons, to cover up the color change.
So, I think that’s all I have to say about Grenadine right now.
Next, here’s a sneak peek at the new free pattern I’m planning to publish on Friday coming up:
Have a great day everyone! And remember…
(I found this pic on Pinterest, lol)
