Cluster Love Slouchy- FREE PATTERN

If this hat looks familiar, it is because it’s a new variation of my Granny’s Hugs Toddler Hat. I was recently asked if I could make the hat in an adult size, and after many attempts, without manipulating the pattern too much, this is what I came up with. The changes to the original pattern include yarn type, hook size, and stitch count, however, I think the hat still looks very similar, close to identical, as the original.

I’ve included a few notes (typed in bold) throughout the pattern, in places where you can customize the fit to your personal liking, so please be sure to read through the pattern in it’s entirety before you begin.

(if you would like a much looser-fitting hat, work one more round here, increasing by 6 more cl and 6 more ch-2 sps, for a total of 36 cl and 36 ch-2 sps, before proceeding to the next step. You will probably need to switch to a 4.5mm hook, or smaller, for the ribbed cuff, as it will be very loose).

Rounds 7-17- repeat Round 6 (If you would prefer a slouchier hat, add more rounds here before proceeding to the ribbed cuff).

Beginning the ribbed cuff:

Round 18- ch 2 (does not count as dc), dc in the same st, 2 dc in the 1st ch-2 sp, dc in the top of the first cl, 2 dc in the next ch-2 sp, (dc in the top of the next cl, 2 dc in the next ch-2 sp), repeat around, join with a sl st to the first dc (90 dc)

Round 19- ch 2 (does not count as a dc), bpdc in the first dc, fpdc in the next dc, (bpdc in the next dc, fpdc in the next dc) repeat around, join with a sl st to the top of the first bpdc (45 bpdc and 45 fpdc)

Rounds 21- 24- repeat round 20 (if you would like a longer ribbed cuff, repeat this round the desired number of times to reach the length you prefer).

Fasten off and weave in ends.
