Back To Crochet

No more knitting for me, for a moment anyhow. Knitting and I have a love/hate relationship, and today it is not one of those love days, lol. I was making great progress on a sock, got past the heel and gusset, but then the pattern instructions messed things up for me and before I knew it I was ripping apart the entire sock. (I had decided to try a different pattern rather than my tried and true pattern). So, my husband is going to have CROCHETED black socks to wear in his workboots!  If I make a mistake while crocheting, it is so much easier for me to fix!

A Pair Of Socks

This first pair is now complete. I think they look pretty good considering I’m usually a crocheter and not a knitter. I do hope that the person I’ve made them for will like and appreciate them.

Now I’m starting on another pair, this time in black and larger, for my husband to wear in his workboots. Hopefully these will whip up just as quickly, if not quicker than, the first pair.

Sock Progress

One sock done, the second sock started. I’m using up leftover yarn from the blanket I made. Red Heart Super Saver as you can see in the photo. These socks are going to be thick and cozy and warm, perfect for winter and snow. My Nan use to make this kind of sock and we would each get a pair every Christmas. I miss those socks. Nan would use very bright contrasting colors on one sock. For example the sock could be bright pink with an orange or yellow stripe around the cuff. I think I would like to help her sock legacy live on and start making those bright colored socks for everyone each winter 🙂
